Nikon and Pictureline present Small Flash, Big Portrait Workshop with National Training Specialist, Paul Van Allen
Portraits can be one of the most rewarding disciplines in photography. A picture that captures the essence of a person is something that all photographers strive to achieve.
But where to start? The Lens? The Settings? The Composition? And then... there is the Lighting! Especially scary if that lighting is from a flash!
Nikon’s National Training Specialist Paul Van Allen will help you take the fright out of portraits made with flashes. You will take a tour of your camera and find the settings that will help you make great portraits. You will learn about lens selection and composition. And finally, you will get exposed to the wonderful world of wireless flash portraits. You will learn the techniques and settings needed to turn that flash into a tool to create some wonderfully amazing light.
To finish everything off, you will help create a portrait... LIVE! You will get to walk through the thought process and trouble shoot while helping your instructor with an actual portrait shoot.
