This LEE100 Deluxe Kit from LEE Filters includes four filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your photography by preventing overexposure, as well as a circular polarizer to prevent distracting reflections or glare.
To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, this kit contains a LEE Filters LEE100 Filter Holder that is designed to allow for the convenient use of up to three, 100mm-wide, 2mm-thick filters along with the LEE Filters LEE100 Polarizer Filter.
Pouches and filter cases are also included for storage and transport of this kit's components, as well as a LEE Filters Filter Cleaning Kit to maintain the clarity of the filters' surfaces. A separately available LEE Filters adapter ring for a 100mm system filter holder that screws onto a compatible lens's front filter threads is required to use the LEE100 Filter Holder.
Constructed for durability while remaining lightweight, use of the LEE100 Filter Holder is easily accomplished by first screwing a LEE Filters adapter ring for a 100mm system filter holder onto a lens with corresponding front filter threads. After being fitted onto an adapter ring, the filter holder's pull-and-release locking knob helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection that allows the holder to be rotated 360°, allowing the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. Featuring three user-selectable positions, the locking knob can be set to allow the filter holder to be rotated or removed from an adapter ring. By progressively turning the locking knob, the filter holder can be locked onto an adapter ring while it is rotated or locked onto an adapter ring with no rotation.
Three pairs of snap-on, LEE Filters Filter Guide Blocks are provided for the LEE100 Filter Holder. When installed, a guide block pair creates one, two, or three slots for 100mm-wide, 2mm-thick filters and accommodates the LEE100 Polarizer Filter. The LEE100 Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface while creating a warm cast over an entire image. This combined effect can be obtained under daylight when this filter is used on a film camera system with daylight film inserted, or on a digital camera system with its daylight white balance setting selected. Mounted within a durable and lightweight fiberglass frame, the LEE100 Polarizer Filter is designed to snap directly onto the LEE100 Filter Holder's installed guide blocks, allowing it to be used without occupying any of the filter slots created by the guide blocks.
The LEE Filters 100 x 100mm Big Stopper 3.0 Neutral Density Filter is a solid neutral density filter that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
The LEE Filters 100 x 150mm Hard Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images that include defined horizon lines. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 3-stop reduction in light from entering a lens.
The LEE Filters 100 x 150mm Medium Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter and the LEE Filters 100 x 150mm Medium Graduated Neutral Density 1.2 Filter each help to darken specific areas of an image such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. These filters are densest at the edge and taper to clear by the middle, with a medium-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. Neutral density filters with a medium-edged line of transition can filter the sky while minimizing their effect on the land. They are particularly useful for images that include elements like rooftops and mountains that protrude into the sky. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and these filters provide up to a 2- and 4-stop reduction in light, respectively, from entering a lens.
