Documentary filmmaking is more than pressing 'play' on your video camera. It's all about telling a story, having the right tools, choosing the best lens, getting your audio recorded correctly, and editing it in a compelling way. And all that is just the tip of the iceberg!
In this hands-on workshop sponsored by Panasonic LUMIX, documentary filmmaker Griffin Hammond demonstrates the camera, lighting and audio equipment he uses to shoot run-and-gun projects around the world. Attendees are invited to try out his lightweight equipment, and stage an interview shoot. After learning storytelling structure, camera techniques and how to capture the four ingredients of documentary, you’ll import the footage and discuss editing strategies for documentary.
