An extremely portable, ultra-wide-angle lens, the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD is just 2.5 inches (64mm) long and weighs less than half a pound (220g), so really can go anywhere. The overall length of the lens doesn’t change when focusing, so extreme close-ups are possible without fear of accidentally bumping the front element. It shares the same 67mm filter diameter as many of the other Tamron lenses for Sony E-mount cameras, so polarizers and lens caps can also easily be shared.

The newly developed Optimized Silent Drive (OSD) in the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III has been optimized to ensure precision and quiet tracking of constantly moving subjects. Operating noise has been significantly reduced, so it’s easy to shoot video without picking up any ambient drive sounds.

Three Low Dispersion (LD) elements in the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD help minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing, improving color accuracy. Spherical aberrations and other distortions are reduced with the molded glass aspherical element, generating sharp, accurate imagery. Lens surfaces are treated with Tamron’s proprietary Broad-Band Anti-Reflection (BBAR) coating, helping to preserve a crisp image quality while reducing ghosting and flaring.
