First Compact & Lightweight 600mm Super Telephoto RF Lens

The RF 600mm f11 IS STM Lens is the first native RF lens to achieve a focal length of 600mm. Unlike its EF counterparts, this lens is designed to be easily handheld by incorporating an extending/retracting locking lens barrel design, in combination with Diffractive Optics (DO) elements. Thanks to this innovative design, the RF 600mm tips the scales at just over 2 pounds, making it easy to carry and use without additional monopods or tripods.

Enhanced Portability with Extending/Retracting Locking Lens Barrel

Part of the design enhancements introduced with the RF 600mm is an extending and retracting locking lens barrel. This allows the barrel of the lens to retract when not in use, making it smaller and easier to carry than previous super telephoto offerings. Unlocking via a quick-lock ring and extending the barrel prepares the lens for action in mere seconds.

Diffractive Optics (DO) for Enhanced Image Quality

Canon has utilized a gapless dual-layered diffractive optical element design to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations and ensure clear, detailed images for high quality results no matter the subject. The inclusion of DO elements also reduces the number of elements required for the lens design, further contributing to the lightweight nature of the lens.

Up to 5-Stops of Optical Image Stabilization

Super telephoto images can be difficult to keep sharp without a tripod or monopod, in large part because of movement at the camera. Canon has incorporated their latest Optical Image Stabilization in the RF 600mm f11, so images remain tack sharp, even when handheld.

RF Lens Control Ring

Like all RF lenses, the RF 600mm f11 IS STM incorporates Canon’s control ring, which can be customized to control shutter speed, aperture, or ISO easily and without the need to look away from the viewfinder. Thanks to this innovation, changing settings on-the-go without interrupting shooting has never been easier.

Compatible with New Extenders

For the ultimate in long-distance shooting, the RF 600mm f11 IS STM is also compatible with the new RF 1.4x and 2x Extenders. Using the 1.4x provides a focal length of 840mm, and the 2x 1200mm.
