Description
January 7th
9335 State St,
Sandy, UT 84101
In the morning, Tim Meyer will lead you though a fast paced introduction to the basics of professional lighting techniques and posing. He will illustrate how your choice of light shaping tools, metering, ratios, facial analysis and posing work together to produce consistently higher quality images.
This class will be about light styling - using light as a tool to shape and make statements about style - and will provide the opportunity for you to develop a professional level of portrait lighting skills. The material will be geared toward introductory to intermediate skill levels, but will provide a review of fundamentals that even seasoned photographers will find beneficial.
After lunch we will take fundamental lighting to an extreme place, break the mold of the expected, and explode it into inspired and innovative imagery. While strong basic lighting skills are essential to every successful wedding and portrait photographer, an advanced understanding of unconventional lighting and the ability to create compelling work is paramount to any photographic artist's growth.
Drawing on his 35 years as an award winning portrait photographer and educator, and his understanding of the influences of a variety of artistic styles, Tim Meyer will advance your understanding of commonplace studio lighting equipment used in extraordinary ways and will expose you to the use of spotlights, ring flash, beauty dishes, and more in this exciting, fast paced, information filled program.
This is a PPA Continuing Education event. All PPA Members attending the full day class receive a PPA merit towards your degrees.
