Italy Workshops is offering an exclusive Five Star photographic tour of Europe’s holiday jewels: London and Paris. After the celebration with family and friends wraps up at home, join us in London on December 28 to soak in the sights and smells and bustle of the town that has celebrated the season for centuries, followed by a visual feast and celebration of New Year’s Eve in Paris, the City of Light.
Travel photographer, London resident and former Paris resident Joel Addams will be the workshop leader. Kari Bodell, veteran trip manager, will make sure that every detail is taken care of.
Meet at our hotel in London on December 28, far from the wonderful and maddening holidays at home. We’ll head out on a tour of the city with holiday lights illuminating the most striking landmarks of the city as dusk falls. We’ll then tuck in for a festive holiday dinner together.
Over the next two days, Joel will take you to his favorite photographic haunts and work side-by-side with you to create stunning and completely unexpected images of London in winter. We will spend some time focused on the big, iconic images, and Joel will also develop your documentary-style shooting skills, to tell the story of London during this special season.
Winter is a magical time to be in London and in addition to the must-see spots, we’ll visit some of the most visually quintessential neighborhoods and high streets. The festivities and decorations bring a surreal magic to the city, making for especially picturesque afternoons and evenings out.
We’ll then ride the 186 mph Eurostar through the Chunnel to Paris in time to celebrate New Year’s Eve in French style. Where would you rather be than the City of Light to begin your year? Joel will be your instructor and navigator as you search out the great street scenes, cafes and, of course, the evening lights here in the center of fashion, shopping and art.
Paris is the one of the most colorful and exciting places in the world to celebrate New Year’s Eve. While the Champs-Elysees fills with celebrants and the Arc de Triomphe sparkles, we will also celebrate in places like the plaza at Sacre Coeur, with its spectacular views of the entire Paris skyline.
Imagine stark black and white images of a wintery Parisian park or the brilliantly lit streets of Saint Germain, not to mention the areas around Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower. During his time in Paris, Joel has developed a particular interest in the numerous historical and quaint churches, just begging to be photographed.
