RED Digital Cinema Komodo-X 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF, Black)

RED has expanded its KOMODO line with the introduction of the RED Digital Cinema KOMODO-X 6K in black. This digital cinema camera boasts enhanced frame rates, a revamped S35 sensor, and a modernized form factor that includes advanced video and audio interfaces. Equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and a USB-C connector, the KOMODO-X serves as a robust foundation for seamless professional recording, multi-camera configurations, and IP-based workflows, including live streaming. To enhance the KOMODO-X experience, a range of pre-bundled packages and supplementary accessories, such as RED Pro I/O V-Mount and Gold Mount Modules, will be made available.

Although maintaining the same dimensions as the original 6K S35 global-shutter KOMODO sensor, the KOMODO-X sensor has undergone a comprehensive redesign, incorporating significant architectural enhancements. This redesign results in exceptional image quality and color science, with notable improvements in shadow detail and color rendition. Furthermore, it enables impressive frame rates, supporting up to 80 frames per second in 6K and up to 120 frames per second in 4K.

The KOMODO-X 6K camera seamlessly combines specific DSMC3 features with the remarkably compact KOMODO form factor. This new iteration, the KOMODO-X, offers compatibility with the forthcoming PRO I/O Module, which provides auxiliary power and accommodates full-size Gold and V-mount batteries. Additionally, it incorporates a built-in micro plate that allows for the direct mounting of Micro V-mount batteries, eliminating the need for an adapter. Furthermore, the camera features a full-size 6-pin 11-17VDC power input for added flexibility.
