Rigby, Idaho ( United States )
I have been blessed with a loving and very supportive family. How many husbands would spend every night and weekend watching the kids so their wife can go out an have fun, I mean work? He has been so wonderful and patient with me and my passion for photography. We have been married 16 years and I can't imagine my life with out him. We have been blessed with three beautiful daughters who love to pose for the camera... when I let them. They love to sit in the doorway to the studio with starry eyes and huge smiles watching the brides in their georgeous gowns. I am affraid for when their day comes to be the bride. I find bridal magazines in my 12 year old's bedroom already with ideas of what she wants to do when she gets married. Boy am I in trouble.
We recently built my 1500 square foot dream studio on our property here in Rigby. I finally have room to shoot those large families and long bridal gown trains without having my back against the wall. I LOVE IT!!! Stop by and see the studio anytime.
family events/vacations, portraits, landscapes
I got my start in photography at the young age of 15 when my older sister took a photography class in high school and brought a Pentax K1000 home to do some homework. I remember following her around asking question after question. That next school year I was a sophomore and signed up for the yearbook staff and I haven't set the camera down since. That was over 18 years ago and I love it even more now then I did back then. The ironic thing now is that same sister now works for me in my studio.
I have spent many hours in the darkroom watching my images come to life, but now with digital, I get that same feeling when I work in Photoshop. My creative outlet is so much higher now that I have the education and tools to create images that I couldn't before with film. While I still have my Mamiya 645 Super for certain things, I love my Canon 5D and the endless possiblities beofer me.
I love photographing weddings and everything that goes with it. Every wedding is the beginning of a new family. It's the day that most girls dream about their whole lives. I love to capture the love and emotion of that special day. Those images become that new family's heirlooms for their children and grandchildren for many generations to come. What a great honor it is for me to offer such a valueable service to my customers. I have had the pleasure of traveling to all over Idaho and Utah as well as Canada, Washington, Wyoming and Montana, and California to photograph weddings. Each new place is a great adventure for me and I love every minute of it!!! I love to travel and am up for any new adventures.
I have been blessed over the last 16 years that I have been a professional photographer years to photograph the happy occations in people's lives: Weddings, Family Reunions, Birthdays and many more too many to count. I love the interaction with my customers, infact they become like family to me.
I use top of the line Canon camera eguipment and Alien Bee lighting on location and in the studio.
I love to photograph in the evening when the light is soft and the colors are spectacular. My signature style is landscape portrature. I am constantly looking for new spots to photograph my customers in. Whether it be by a pond, a lake, a barn or s wheat field, I love to create original works of art for my clients with them in a beautiful landscape scene. What better way to decorate your home with a scene that looks like it is out a art gallery and that has your family in it.
